In Their Own Words: Why School is Different at Tiers Free Academy Student Experience Using Tiers Free Program I started off at a traditional High School in traditional classes except for my Honors World History class. I was getting a traditional mediocre High School Diploma until I got into a bit of trouble and was forced to leave. I then switched to another High School that offered several ways to get me additional credits such as year long classes condensed down into a semester. After awhile I began to fall behind at that school as well. Due to a medical illness I had to switch all of my classes to online and that illness caused me to fail my Senior year of High School. I then began searching out other options such as just dropping out or getting my GED. Well, after talking with a friend of mine. He had recommended Dr. Mabry and the Tiers Free Academy as an alternative to dropping from school completely. So, I got in touch with Dr. Mabry and little did I know, I had made the best educational choice of my life. Dr. Mabry converted me over to a homeschool student and told me that I have two options: do homeschool academic classes or do Dual Enrollment. I had experience with college classes prior to this so I chose Dual Enrollment. I am currently enrolled at Gwinnett Tech for the final credits that I need to graduate and receive a High School Diploma INSTEAD of a GED. This has been the best choice I had ever made. If I had known about her program sooner I would have dropped from my High School and began working with her sooner. Thanks to Dr. Mabry I am going to be graduating from the Tiers Free Academy in just SIX MONTHS! I chose to do Tiers Free Academy as a means of receiving my Diploma instead of getting a GED. As a Dual Enrollment student I am extremely happy and excited about my future. I actually see a positive outcome coming from this. I recommend Dr. Mabry and her program to anyone who has hit what they believe is their dead end... she can help you out of that slump!" D. Frazier (Class of 2017) Student Experience Using Tiers Free Program 1. Why did you select the Tiers Free program? I selected the Tiers Free Program because no other schooling was working for me the teachers didn't want to teach me or the others students as soon as I started the homeschooling program I instantly began to progress in my senior year and I can actually understand what the teachers are teaching because they explain it so I am able to comprehend the lessons. 2. Was the program harder than you imagined? No, the program is very understandable the teachers break the lessons down so you actually understand them. 3. How much academic support did you have if you encountered a challenge? If you need extra help with the lessons to further your knowledge they have extra help videos. 4. What kept you motivated to finish? When I started off my senior year at a different homeschool I wasn't understanding any of the lessons the teachers would not give any extra help and it was very hard to learn I was making F's. I was motivated to finish because I had the support from the amazing Dr. Annise Mabry the founder of the Tiers Free Program. She never gave up on me and knew that I would graduate on time through her program. J.C. (Class of 2017) Parent Experience Using Tiers Free Program Tiers Free Academy has been the instrument that took a struggling young student in the "traditional" school system that failed him time and again to a very successful young man who has owned his own business and is now a valued employee of one of the world's largest manufacturers of insulation products and solutions in Alabama. My son was deemed "learning disabled" from 1st grade. Traditional reading based learning was difficult for him. He was and is a sight learner who with the learning modifications available through Tiers Free has given him the confidence to finish his traditional education and become a successful young adult in his business and personal life. Tiers Free has given him that opportunity where the traditional education avenues in Georgia, Alabama and California had failed him.
